'Visitor on the Snow Mountain' tours Shanghai

The classic 1963 movie "Visitor on the Snow Mountain" has been written into an opera and staged in Shanghai. The opera is produced by the National Center for the Performing Arts.

The magnificent atmosphere of symphonic music, fascinating story, classical melodies of the opera were presented by performers to the audience as a masterpiece of the Chinese classic.

Its production took two years and premiered at the end of 2014. It is conducted by renowned Chinese conductor Lyu Jia, directed by Chen Xinyi, and jointly performed by Uygur and Han singers.

"Visitor on the Snow Mountain" is a 1963 film, telling a revolutionary story of soldiers and residents in Xinjiang. The film was a huge success at that time and songs in the film become classics with music lovers and opera enthusiasts.
