A draft to the city's regulations regarding pre-hospital care and emergency treatment has been put on the website of the Legal Affairs Office so that the public can send in their suggestions. The draft states that anyone who intentionally gets in the way of an ambulance will be punished with detention for up to 10 days, the Legal Mirror reported.

The draft also states that people cannot make prank calls to the emergency center and that they should state the patient's location, condition, and contact information clearly when making an emergency call. Two thirds of the calls the center receives every day are prank calls, according to Beijing Emergency Medical Center.
