Three workers were killed and another five were hospitalized after a gas leak in a chemical factory in south China's Guangdong Province on Sunday morning.
The gas leak occurred at Guanghui chemical plant in Sanshui District of Foshan City at around 3:23 a.m. Sunday, the local publicity department said.
The local environmental authority assessed the area and determined the leak has not impacted the surrounding environment so far, the department said.
The case is under further investigation.
