A seminar was held here on Wednesday to commemorate late Chinese premier Zhou Enlai as Thursday marks the 117th anniversary of his birth in 1898.

Members of the Publicity Department and Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, as well as Zhou's former colleagues and family members, remembered Zhou's fine work style and good individual morality. They agreed that his lifelong devotion to the cause of the Party and the country should be a lasting example for all CPC members.

Zhou strictly abided by the CPC disciplines and always put the Party's cause and the people's interest first, which should be carried forward in the country's modernization drive, according to the seminar.

In an editorial to be carried on Thursday's edition, the People's Daily, the flagship newspaper of the CPC, spoke highly of Zhou, who has been remembered by the Chinese people since he passed away in 1976.

It said that CPC cadres should take Zhou and other veteran revolutionists as role models to keep upright, enhance self-culture, and improve work style so as to better serve the people.
