Eric Tsang, famous Hong Kong actor, has resigned his post as political advisor to Jiangmen city, Guangdong province, HK media reported on Friday.

Tsang has been absent from the annual session of Jiangmen Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) for four years since he was elected in 2011.

"I feel really sorry for my absence, but I was not able to make it because I am also a member of the Guangzhou committee", he told reporters at a film premier on Thursday."The two cities hold their annual sessions at the same time."

"I've been focusing on Guangzhou, so I resigned my post in Jiangmen this year", he said.

Tsang was elected as member of CPPCC Guangzhou Committee in 2007.

The annual two sessions of Guangzhou and Jiangmen opened on Sunday and Wednesday respectively.
