A senior official of China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) on Wednesday exchanged views with justices of the US Supreme Court on enhancing judicial cooperation between the two countries.

Tao Kaiyuan, vice president of the SPC, met with US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and retired Justice Sandra Day O'Connor in Washington, D.C.

Tao expounded to the US justices China's progress in promoting the rule of law, the central theme of the fourth plenum of the 18th Communist Party of China Central Committee in October, 2014.

On Wednesday, she also gave a speech at the Brookings Institution, a renowned US think tank, sharing her perspectives on the new developments in China's judicial reform and measures to promote the rule of law.
