China will further promote cooperation with Equatorial Guinea in energy and other fields and create more win-win achievements, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Wednesday after a meeting with Equatorial Guinea President Teodoro Obiang Nguema in the port city of Bata.

Wang said China cherishes the traditional friendship with Equatorial Guinea, and is willing to further consolidate political trust and enhance cooperation.

China will promote the cooperation with Equatorial Guinea in energy and other fields, and tap the potential for agriculture and marine economy cooperation, Wang said.

He also suggested the two countries enhance coordination in regional and international affairs.

Calling China Equatorial Guinea's "true and good friend," Obiang said his country is committed to further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation.

Equatorial Guinea hopes to get China's continual support and assistance in its industrialization and economic transformation, said Obiang, adding that he expected China to play a bigger role in helping Africa to achieve security and development.

Equatorial Guinea is the fouth stop of Wang's African trip, which has already taken him to Kenya, Sudan and Cameroon.
