Police in south China's Guangdong Province have seized 24,000 guns and more than 5.6 million bullets in a two month crackdown on gun crime.

The police also arrested 4,095 suspects from Oct. 25 to Dec. 25, according to the provincial public security department on Monday.

They included a 22-member gang in Dongguan City who manufactured guns and engaged in drug trafficking. Three gun manufacturing dens in the city were destroyed by police.

The manufacture and sale of guns is banned in China to combat violent crime. Private citizens are not allowed to own guns.
