Local teenagers to have free training during winter vacations

The Municipal Sports Bureau of Changchun said Monday that a 16-event winter camp for teenagers will open on 5th January 2015 for their free training during their winter vacations.

"The cost of the camp are all paid by our government," said official Wu Hao, "we hope the free training camp can showcase our confidence in China's bidding for the 2022 Winter Olympics and we also hope the physical conditions of teenagers can be improved through the running of the camp."

The camp will provide free training in soccer, basketball, table tennis,tennis, ski, skating, badminton and so on.

Winter sports are very popular in Changchun, the captial city of Jilin province in NE China.

China got three gold medals from the Sochi Winter Olypics, including two by athletes from Jilin province.
