Mandopop icon Jay Chou personally confirmed that he will tie the knot with his Taiwan-Australian girlfriend, Hannah Quinlivan, on Jan 18, which also marks his 36th birthday, while promoting his new album in Taipei on Monday.

However, Jay Chou denied earlier reports that he popped the question to Quinlivan at Hyde Park at the beginning of this month when he starred in a Hollywood movie Now you see me II in London. Quinlivan accompanied him on the trip as his interpreter.

Jay Chou said he would propose in a secret place, which he wouldn't disclose in advance, because it's too embarrassing for him to propose in front of many people.

Jay Chou officially admitted the romance for the first time last month when he shared an intimate photo of Quinlivan and him on his Weibo account though Quinlivan has been his rumored girlfriend ever since February 2011.

Jay Chou, a Taiwan born musician, actor and director, released his debut album titled Jay in 2000. Since then his music has gained recognition throughout Asia and in the Asian communities of Western countries such as the United States and Australia. He has sold more than 30 million albums and has received numerous awards for his musical work. In 2003, he was the cover story of Time magazine (Asia edition), titled New King of Asian Pop, acknowledging his influence on popular culture. He has since held six world tours, performing in cities around the world to more than 10 million people.
