Chinese president appoints eight new ambassadors

Chinese President Xi Jinping has appointed eight new ambassadors, according to a statement issued by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) on Thursday.

Xi made the appointments in line with decisions by the NPC Standing Committee, China's top legislature.

Chang Hua has been appointed ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, replacing Huang Jiemin.

Wang Tongqing has been appointed ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, replacing Wang Yingwu.

Ma Fulin has been appointed ambassador to the Central African Republic, replacing Sun Haichao.

Diao Mingsheng has been appointed ambassador to the Republic of Benin, replacing Tao Weiguang.

Zhang Hanhui has been appointed ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan, replacing Le Yucheng.

Qu Xing has been appointed ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, replacing Liao Liqiang.

Lv Fan has been appointed ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra as well, replacing Zhu Bangzao.

Wu Yuanshan has been appointed ambassador to Bolivia, replacing Li Dong.
