Veteran Japanese actor Takakura Ken passed away at the age of 83 on Nov 10.

Chinese audiences approached to Takakura in 1978 after his movie "Kimi Yo Funnu no Kawa o Watare" was introduced to China. The movie won a big success and the actor became well-known in China.

In 2004, Takakura cooperated with famed Chinese director Zhang Yimou to shoot the movie "Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles" and again won the hearts of Chinese audiences.
