China urges Japan to properly handle history, Diaoyu Islands issues

Japan must face up to and properly handle issues of great sensitivity such as history and the Diaoyu Islands, Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi said here Friday.

The Japanese side should work with China for the improvement and growth of the bilateral relations, Yang said during a meeting with visiting Japanese National Security Advisor Shotaro Yachi.
