Shanghai to host regional conference on public administration in 2015

The Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA) Conference 2015 is scheduled to be held in China's Shanghai in October 2015, according to information released at the closing ceremony of EROPA 2014 in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Thursday.

The EROPA 2015 will be under the theme of regional government reforms in the market context, together with sub-themes relating to roles of government and market, experiences and lessons of emerging markets, reforms in management.

After five working days, EROPA 2014 concluded in Hanoi on Thursday, reported Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA.

The 2014 event, themed "Public Administration and Governance in the Context of Regional and Global Integration" was co-organized by the EROPA and the National Academy of Public Administration of Vietnam, drew participation of over 400 management officials and experts from various countries and regions.

Delegates at the conference discussed general issues regarding regional and international integration, transparency, accountability, and participation of private sector into state administration, reported VNA.

EROPA was established in 1960, focusing greatly on public administration development in order to promote socio-economic growth in the countries and regions in Asia-Pacific. EROPA is also a forum for exchange of new approaches to an administration of efficiency, effectiveness and transparency, said the EROPA's website.
