A collection of Diego Rivera (1886-1957) art works, one of the representative figures of Mexican muralists, is on display at The National Art Museum of China through December 9. Supported by the cultural heritage of the State of Veracruz, visitors in Beijing will be able to view 34 of the artist's masterpieces.

The exhibition includes works from landscapes creations in 1904 to abstract paintings made in 1956, and feature the various artistic techniques he used such as oil painting, watercolor, collage, and pencil, coal and ink drawings. The collection is organized into different themes, presenting the different aspects of art history, such as naturalism, cubism and local life scenes, that deeply influenced Mexican painters of his time.

Some unique pieces made by Rivera during his stay in Europe will be shown at the exhibition - some of them forgotten by the artist himself. This will be the first time that these works have come to Asia.
