Snack shops in the Forbidden City have been removed as part of a campaign to better restore the historical scene, and to prepare for extending services, reported the Beijing News.

The stores in the imperial garden and near Longzong Gate and the Jingyun Gate, will be reconstructed into shops that sell Chinese paintings and calligraphy. The rest zone will be moved to Kunning Gate where snacks will be available.
