Leaders of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Tuesday jointly sent a congratulatory message to Chinese leaders on the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

Top leader Kim Jong Un, along with Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, and Pak Pong Ju, premier of the cabinet, sent their greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Zhang Dejiang, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, the official KCNA new agency reported.

"Our people hope that the Chinese people will achieve bigger successes in the efforts for the development and prosperity of the country and we wish the PRC prosperity and your people happiness," the message said.

Kim has not showed up for almost a month since his last public appearance on Sept. 3, when he watched the performance of the Moranbong Band with his wife Ri Sol Ju here at the Mansudae Art Theater.

On Sept. 26, a short video clip broadcast on the Korean Central Television said Kim was still busy leading the DPRK people with enormous enthusiasm despite his recent ill-heath, and showed Kim's on-site inspection activities.
