Angelique Kerber is hoping to conclude this season with a happy ending here in China Open, after four times reaching WTA tournament finals but losing all of them.

"I am trying to enjoy the last tournament of the year, and set a good pace for next season," the 26-year-old said at the China Open press conference here on Saturday.

Kerber will face Australian Casey Dellacqua in first round of China Open, who is also a left-hander.

"I do not often play left-handed players, it appears to be a little different especially at the beginning. But when you are into the match, it is actually the same," Kerber said.

The German finished at 9th in WTA rankings at the end of 2013 after winning the Linz Open, which was her last tournament title. She reached Sydney, Doha, Eastbourne and Stanford finals, but none of the results are positive.

"Everyone wants to win the title when she reaches the final, so it is always a pressure. The only thing I could do is keep going and try to play best tennis," she said.
