Law enforcers from China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam on Wednesday vowed to enhance cooperation against drug production, trafficking and abuse in the Greater Mekong Subregion of East Asia.

Representatives gathered for a conference in Beijing and they agreed to cooperate in information exchange, investigation and evidence collection, suspect extradition, equipment support and work against money laundering.

The six countries also said they would cooperate with more international regions and organizations.

In 1993, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, China and the U.N. Drug Control Program, signed a memorandum of understanding on drug control to crack down on narcotics crimes in East Asia.
