A startling collection of copper etchings from France's Louvre are on display in China's northeastern Changchun as the two countries celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties.

The exhibition, named "Royal Engraving Collections -- France Louvre Copper Etching Exhibition", includes 136 copper etchings from the 16th century to modern times. It covers 1,500 square meters and is open to the public for free.

Xu Huaiwu, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Changchun city, said that the exhibition is one of a series of activities to celebrate the half-century-old diplomatic relationship this year between China and France.

"It will not only create a platform for China-France cultural exchange, but also enrich the cultural lives of people in Changchun," Xu added.
