Former Nanjing Party official found hanged in his home

Lou Xuequan, former Party chief of Liuhe District in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, hanged himself at home this morning, Beijing News reported.

Lou's wife found him in their home around 5am after he had hanged himself, the newspaper said. He was rushed to BenQ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the report said.

The 50 year old was removed from his posts as Party chief of Liuhe District and Secretary of the Party Working Committee in Nanjing Chemical Industry Park on June 18.

The Nanjing native had previously been director and Party chief of the Nanjing Transport Bureau and vice commander of the city's road and bridge construction headquarters.

He was appointed Party chief of Xiaguan District in December 2011 and was moved to the post of Party chief in Liuhe in March 2013.
