Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage has carried out an excavation after local transportation staff in Fangshan district dug up a gravestone and two coffins on August 28, reported the Beijing Times.
According to a witness at the scene, the tombstone was discovered in a construction site along the National Highway 107.
The inscription on the tombstone indicated that it belonged to a eunuch in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
The relationship between the tombstone and the two coffins are still unknown at this time.
