According to the Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage (BMAH), the old Zhangjiawan township along China's Grand Canal has installed cameras to better protect their relics, reported the Beijing News.
An official with BMAH said that they have consolidated the monuments and installed cameras at the south of Tongyun Bridge to monitor the relics 24 hours a day.
According to the official, Zhangjiawan township, which is along the Grand Canal that runs 1,794 kilometers from Beijing to Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, is planning to apply for the World Heritage List.
