China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Wednesday called on advisors nationwide to continue efforts and suggestions to fight corruption.

Yu, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, made the remarks at a meeting of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, China's top political advisory body.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, the CPC has been resolved to fight corruption. It issued an eight-point anti-bureaucracy and formalism guideline and has been carrying out a "mass line" campaign, said Yu.

The CPC has shown zero-tolerance towards corruption and all CPPCC members should correspond in thoughts and manners, Yu added.

Yu urged all political advisors to improve work style by tightening self-discipline, discard hedonism and avoid seeking private interests through power.

During the three-day meeting, many political advisors offered their suggestions.

Zheng Jianbang, on behalf of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, said a long-term anti-corruption system should be established in order to fully implement the eight-point guideline and build a law-based society.

Zheng Xiaoyan, on behalf of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, said political advisors should be true friends to the CPC who will give forthright admonition.

Zheng advised an improved democratic supervision system in order to better provide political support and policies.
