Civil aviation authorities from China and Mongolia are scheduled to apply the same air traffic control separation standards from Sept 18.

The move will ease air traffic congestion between Europe and East Asia, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said Sunday in a statement.

Starting on Sept 18, air traffic control separation standards in Mongolia and northern China will reduce from current 90 km to 30 km, and the two country's civil aviation authorities will sign a new air control agreement, the CAAC said.

According to the CAAC, new separation standards will result in more flights over the Chinese and Mongolian airspace.

Air traffic between Europe and China, Southeast Asia, Japan and the Republic of Korea are expected to become less congested.
