Light festival comes to Beijing

"And God said, Let there be light; and there was light."

The Beijing International Light Festival comes to Beijing's LD Design Center on Wednesday, the fifth year since its debut in 2010 by a group of young creative designers.

According to its curator Ding Ping, this year's festival showcases a total of 18 light installations under the theme of "Architecture and Light."

"The installations match light with specific architecture and not only examine how the interaction between the two creates a life for the building, but also looks at the unique beauty of light," she wrote in the preface for the festival.

Some of installations at the center include Memories by Ye Weide, You Are the Lead by Zhou Hongliang, Photosynthesis by Shao Shuang and Y by Wang Zhenfei and Wang Luming.

The festival is scheduled to run until October 20.
