Elderly man dies after hitting his wife

An old man in Shanghai's Xuhui district died yesterday evening when he fell down after striking his wife, who was then sent to the hospital, xinmin.cn reported today.

The incident happened in their home on Yongfu Road, the report said, adding the man was in his 80s.

Police are investigating the case, according to the report.
