Chinese Ebola experts arrive in Guinea

The second contingent of Chinese Ebola experts arrived in Conakry over the weekend under the program by the Chinese government to help African countries fight against Ebola epidemic.

The contingent, comprised of three experts in emergency public health coming from Beijing will take over from their predecessors who have concluded their mission in the country and are set to return to China.

In addition, the contingent equally has 10 members of China's 24th medical mission. The medical mission will work at the Sino- Guinea Friendship Hospital in Conakry for two years.

The first team of experts worked closely with local medical teams to share their experiences in the area of disease control and prevention. The team also trained local medical workers on personal protection, disinfection and biological safety.

Since the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in some West African countries, China has sent experts and medical equipments to Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, three countries most affected by the epidemic.
