More than 120,000 people in Hong Kong have signed up to join a planned march against the Occupy Central campaign and more are expected to do so in the run-up to the demonstration on Sunday, according to organizers.

The march, from Victoria Park to Central, is supposed to mark an end to a month-long signature campaign by the Alliance for Peace and Democracy.

The alliance said it had collected 1.2 million signatures from people opposed to plans by democracy activists to blockade Central to push for so-called genuine democracy.

A spokesman for the group, Robert Chow, refused to estimate how many people will march on Sunday, but he was very optimistic of a large turnout.

Chow also said it is within expectation that people with different political views will try to disrupt the march. He urged demonstrators to avoid confrontations and instead use their phones to take pictures of any trouble-makers so it can be used as evidence.
