The China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF) on Thursday delivered 3,000 booklets featuring rehabilitation and nursing know-how to Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province, which was hit by a 6.5-magnitude earthquake earlier this month.

The booklets have already reached the hands of injured quake victims and their families, according to the CDPF.

Zhang Tong, head of the CDPF's rehab team, said the booklets will help spread knowledge about rehabilitation, nursing, functional training and disability prevention, thereby reducing complications in people injured in the quake.

Zhang said the information will also play an important role in improving their quality of life.

The CDPF has also dispatched 10 medical and rehab experts to the quake zone, treating the injured and training local therapists.

The China Assistive Devices and Technology Center for Persons with Disability sent 260 sets of auxiliary equipment to the quake zone on Aug.6. The center has already prepared for a follow-up delivery.

The quake on Aug. 3, the strongest to hit Yunnan Province in 14 years, killed more than 600 people and destroyed 80,000 homes in Ludian county and surrounding areas.
