Graduates expect higher salaries

More than half of Chinese graduate students from first-tier universities this year expect salaries between 6,000 yuan ($974 ) to 8,000 yuan a month, a 9 percent increase from 2013, according to the report released by recruiting website 51job.com.

The number of college graduates this year has increased by 280,000 compared to 2013. According to the report, only 38 percent of students from the most prestigious universities in China intend to go to work after graduation, with the rest of them planning postgraduate studies.

The Internet industry is the first choice for graduates, followed by the fast consumer goods and real estate industries.
