A woman who tied and untied the knot a total 26 times is now in a tangle over whether to remarry an ex over legal issues regarding her unborn child.

Meng Tian (pseudonym), 40, of Shuyang county, Jiangsu province, has married and divorced the same nine men for the past two decades, local media reported Friday.

The drama began when Meng discovered she had become pregnant by ex-husband Zhang Yong (pseudonym) only after she had remarried another of her exs, Luo Lin (pseudonym).

Meng then divorced Luo again and remarried Zhang.

However, the couple was informed that according to the family planning policy, they would be fined for registering another child as Zhang had already fathered two children with his ex-wife.

After much deliberation, Meng returned to Luo, who is childless and permitted to add her child to his hukou, or household registration.

Meng faces bigamy charges if she does not divorce Zhang before registering her marriage with Luo, said the report.
