Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with his Malaysian counterpart Anifah Aman on the sidelines of the series of Foreign Ministers Meetings on East Asia cooperation in Myanmar's capital of Nay Pyi Taw Friday.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Malaysia this year, Wang said China will work together with the Malaysian side and implement in good faith the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries so as to ensure that China-Malaysia relations will continue to set a good example for and play a leading role in China's relations with other ASEAN countries.

He stressed that the two sides should maintain the sound momentum of high-level visits, upgrade economic cooperation and trade, and strengthen exchanges in tourism, culture and trade.

China will continue its active participation in the search for the Malaysian Airlines Flight MH 370 and related investigation, extending once again sympathy to the Malaysian side for the crash of the aircraft. said the Chinese foreign minister.

Paying high attention to the consensus reached between Prime Minister Najib Razak and Chinese leaders during Razak's visit to China, Anifah vowed that Malaysia stands ready to forge vigorously ahead with the comprehensive strategic partnership with the Chinese side.

Pledging to continue with the search of the Malaysian aircraft, Anifah thanks China for its compassion and sympathy on the crash of the Flight MH 17.

He added that the Malaysian side will always make unremitting efforts for the development of ASEAN-China relations.
