Four people were confirmed dead and two others seriously injured after a wall at a stone factory fell on Thursday in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

The accident occurred at around 9 am at the Hongming factory located in Dawan Township, Jingyuan County, when six workers were building a cistern, according to a statement from the county government on Friday.

The workers were buried after the 4.2-meter-high wall of the cistern collapsed. One of them was killed on the spot and three others died later in hospital, said the statement.

The remaining two survivors are in a stable condition after receiving surgery, it said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
