Wedded bliss

At a recent charity concert in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, Chinese A-lister Zhou Xun surprised the audience by appearing in a Chanel-customized wedding dress with her fiancee, Chinese-American actor Archie David Kao, after her performance. The two said they were getting married, and then exchanged vows and rings with each other onstage. "I'm very glad to share our love with everyone present. I have said bridal vows in several movies, and finally have the opportunity to say them as myself, Zhou Xun," she said. In May, the 40-year-old actress posted a photo of herself with Kao and a website introduction about Kao on her micro blog, to announce their relationship.

Last August, the 57-year-old veteran Chinese actress Liu Xiaoqing and her husband William Wang Xiaoyu held a small wedding ceremony at Valley Presbyterian Church in San Francisco. The 71-year-old furniture tycoon insisted on having the ceremony on their first wedding anniversary, as a sign of his love for Liu. It's Liu's fourth marriage. Wang said at the altar that he was finally able to hold her hands to enter the sacred marriage with Christ's blessing, after many years of anticipation and admiration.

Chinese award-winning actress Yao Chen married her fiancee Cao Yu at St. Peter's Church in Queenstown, New Zealand on Nov 17, 2012. She invited more than 20 family members and friends to the picturesque resort town, with airplane tickets, board and lodging at her expense. After the cozy wedding, the queen micro-blogger posted on her Sina Weibo: "Thank you (Cao Yu) and my friends for giving me such a perfect wedding. I'd like to repay it with my lifetime". Yao first met Cao when she was shooting the romantic comedy Color Me Love in 2010, and Cao was one of the film's videographers.

When the play Eurydice starring actress Mei Ting had its last performance in Beijing recently, Mei and her husband Zeng Jian held an after-marriage wedding ceremony in the theater. Their 10-month-old daughter and other family members and friends were in the audience. The award-winning cameraman Zeng put more than a dozen of photos of Mei and their daughter along the hall, each with the shooting time and his mood at that time. "It's not easy for husband and wife to go through thick and thin together. Being able to face our past calmly means that we have the courage to be confronted with our future," she said.
