Beijing is set to put 1,300 electrical taxis on the city's roads this year, 500 of which will be located downtown and the other 800 in the suburbs, the Beijing News reported.

The officials in Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission said that there will be 1,000 public fast-charging devices, or piles as they're known, in Beijing by the end of the year.

These charging piles will be available every five kilometers within the fifth ring road. Currently there are already 200 charging piles in the 4S electrical car shops that are open to the public.
