Photos taken along a busy highway in Qinghai province cost a clueless driver 200 yuan ($32) in traffic fines after authorities discovered it on his WeChat account.

Traffic police Li Guoqiang cited the driver for obstructing an emergency lane on the Qinghai section of the Beijing-Tibet Expressway after he stumbled across the three photos on July 26.

The driver was also docked six points out of a total 12 from his license.

The photos showed two men posing in front of the vehicle as oncoming traffic swerved to avoid them.

Li reposted the photos on the official Weibo account of local traffic police and contacted police officers to deal with the case.
