China's political advisors discussed ways to improve social governance and the role social organizations should play at a bi-weekly consultation session here on Thursday.

The session was presided over by Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

According to a statement issued after the session, political advisors agreed social organizations are an important vehicle for consultation and have contributed positively to China's social governance.

They suggest the country should improve legislation concerning social organizations, perfect the taxation system for groups, and promote reforms in relevant industry associations.
