Beijing's health watchdog has launched a subscription account on mobile messaging app WeChat that provides the latest hygiene data for public swimming pools, the Beijing Morning Post reported. The account, dubbed "Beijing Health Inspection" and launched on July 20, allows users to check the water temperature, chlorine and pH levels, and number of swimmers at pools.

Users can also access information about clinics and hospitals, including their inspection records and hygiene gradings, and see which institutions have been punished in the past for poor hygiene.
