Top political advisor underscores cultural services

Chinese top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Tuesday called on government authorities to improve the management of the country's public cultural services.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), made the remarks when discussing measures to streamline the public cultural service system with members of the CPPCC here in Beijing.

He said public cultural services were key to social stability and core competitiveness, and urged the country's political advisors to join forces to promote such services.

Most of the CPPCC members are experienced political figures, celebrities, and experts and scholars specializing in various fields.
