The ninth China-US nano forum kicks off in Tianjin

The ninth China-US nano forum kicked off in Tianjin from July 16 to 18.

The forum was hosted by Nankai University together with Stanford University. The topic of this year's forum was "nano science and applications."

More than 700 experts attended the meeting from Harvard University, Stanford University, Beijing University, Tsinghua University, and other famous colleges and research institutes.

The headmaster of Nankai University also attended the ceremony of awarding Charles Lieber to Nankai's honors list of professors.

Charles Lieber is internationally recognized as a pioneer in the nano scientific area. He is a professor of Harvard University, chief editor of the Nano Letter magazine, and also an academician of the National Academy of Science and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has published more than 360 papers and has registered more than 35 patents. He created synthetic nano methods and developed nano assembling methods. Lieber gave a speech about nano research achievements while professors from other universities also gave presentations and expressed their thoughts and ideas.

It is the ninth year of holding the China-US nano forum, with the first forum was held in 2006. The nano forum has a great influence on scientific research and it has created a good communication platform between Chinese and US scientists.
