Four people died and four others were injured after the van they rode plunged down a mountain road in southwest China's Yunnan province on Wednesday, the local government said.
The accident happened at 1:25pm in Nanhua County of the Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Chuxiong, the press office of the prefectural government said in a statement.
The Jinbei van, driven by Wu Pingrong, a native of Jingdong County, Puer city, veered off the road and plunged 61 meters down the slope, it said.
The injured were landed at the People's Hospital in Chuxiong.
The cause of the accident was under investigation.
