China has exchanged experience and explored practical cooperation with international organizations in its foreign aid in an increasingly open-minded manner, says a white paper on China's foreign aid released Thursday.

From 2010 to 2012, China contributed altogether 1.76 billion yuan to assistance programs initiated by multilateral organizations, including the United Nations Development Program, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the World Health Organization, according to the white paper released by the Information Office of the State Council.

The funds were used to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and to support other developing countries in poverty reduction, food security, trade development, crisis prevention and reconstruction, population development, maternal and child health care, disease prevention and control, education and environmental protection.

Meanwhile, the country has strengthened cooperation with regional financial institutions such as the Asian Development Bank, the African Development Bank and the Caribbean Development Bank to channel more capital into the fields of infrastructure, environmental protection, education and health care in developing countries.

By 2012, China had donated a total of $1.3 billion to these regional financial institutions.

Apart from China's investment of $20 million to establish the Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund in the Asian Development Bank in 2005, China donated another $20 million to this Fund to help with the poverty reduction and development of developing countries in 2012.

To improve the assistance efficiency, China has intensified efforts in various fields, including jointly holding training programs, sharing experience on development cooperation, and piloting trilateral cooperation.

The white paper said China will continue to increase the input in foreign assistance and is willing to work with the international community to make greater contribution to the development of mankind.
