Beijing citizens can now voice their opinions concerning local regulations on home-based care for the elderly after the first draft of the new bill went public on July 7, the Beijing News reported.

The website of the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal People's Congress is accepting opinions on the draft before July 13. According to the draft, part of the elderly citizens' long-term and family-based medical care will be covered by medical insurance.

Community clinics will provide free physical examinations, flu shots and health guidance for the elderly. The health conditions of elder citizens will be recorded, and advice given to treat the most common diseases.
