A female fugitive, who has been on the run since February 19 after being suspected of contract and loan fraud and illegal fundraising involving millions of yuan, was apprehended in Africa, police in Yongkang, Zhejiang province said Wednesday.

Yu Youjing, 40, general manager of Zhejiang Baige Import and Export Company, was arrested in Uganda Wednesday morning and was escorted back to Hangzhou, according to the local Morning Express newspaper.

Yu disappeared in February after obtaining nearly 150 million yuan ($24 million) from four State-owned banks and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, the Legal Weekend reported.

However, local authorities did not confirm the exact amount of the loan.

The Ministry of Public Security issued a "wanted" red bulletin for Yu on June 4.
