Teens call police to complain about quality of their fake IDs

Two Chongqing teenagers were given a stern talking-to after they called cops to gripe about the quality of their fake IDs.

The unhappy customers, He Jun and Tan Tianwei (pseudonyms), who are both under 16 years old, said they answered an ad selling counterfeit cards for 600 yuan ($96) each so that they could enter an Internet bar.

Chinese law requires patrons of Internet bars to be over 18.

However, upon arrival the teens noticed blaring flaws, such as unclear photos and smudged text, and were more than happy to complain about it.

The pair had refused to pay the courier, and with a phone call managed to wrangle their counterfeiter down to 60 yuan each.

Despite the discount, He and Tan decided to enact their power as consumers and call the police.

The clueless teens claimed they did not realize it is illegal to purchase and use fake IDs and were subjected to a long lecture from policemen.
