Tighter security at railway stations

Police at Beijing's four major railway stations, which are Beijing Railway Station, Beijing West Railway Station, Beijing South Railway Station and Beijing North Railway Station, have been equipped with new guns, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

On June 22, the policemen at Beijing Railway Station were on duty with the newly issued pistols. This year the police have strengthened patrols in the busiest parts of the city in preparation for any sudden acts of violence. The police on patrol duty are equipped with guns, riot batons, and patrol dogs.
