China solves 12,000 cases of illegal doctors, hospitals

 China's health authorities have dealt with 12,697 cases of unlicensed doctors and illegal hospitals in the first quarter this year.

Licenses of 18 hospitals found to have broken the rules have been revoked, said a document released by a national leading group charged with cleaning up medical services, released on Thursday.

A total of 396 cases have been passed on to the police for investigation of suspected criminal offenses.

In the first three months this year, health authorities received 4,796 complaints regarding such violations and 4,407 of those cases have been closed.
