Beijing Center for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) for the first time released a Beijing citizens' life expectancy report, showing that Beijinger's average life expectancy has reached 81.35 years old.

However, their active life expectancy, the number of years people expect to live without chronic disability, is only 58 years old, which is about a decade shorter than people living in developed countries, the Beijing Daily reported.

The Beijing CDC started their survey in 2012 and sampled over 6,000 people above 18 years old in Beijing.

Among them, men live on average to 80 years old, and their active life expectancy is 61 years. In comparison, women's life expectancy is 84.5 years old and their active life expectancy is 56.
