Beijing Normal University agreed to install air conditioners for all of its students after they requested the cooling devices in an adaptation of a Chinese pop song, the Beijing News reported on Thursday.

The university currently has air conditioners only in dormitories for international and exchange students.

Chinese students have had to endure the hot summer weather, where temperatures often reach as high as 40 C.

Students recently voiced their complaints about the lack of air conditioners through their adaptation of a popular Chinese song called Miss Dong. The adaptation, called President Dong, is a request to the university's president, Dong Qi, for the school to install air conditioners.

The university responded with their own song called Action Represents My Heart, which is adapted from the famous Chinese song The Moon Represents My Heart. In the song, the university said it will try to meet the students' demands.

The university said it will try its best to finish installing 4,177 air conditioners before next May.
